The team of MUDr. František Okál, prof. Ing. František Duchoň, PhD., Ing. Ľuboš Chovanec, PhD., Ing. Martin Dekan, PhD. a Ing. Michal Adamík succeeded with the SAHARRA project in the global KUKA Innovation Awards 2020 competition. The aim of the project is to develop a collaborative robotic system for the permanent hair removal procedure in dermatological and aesthetic centers and it was selected among 5 projects from around the world. Committee consist of such aces of robotics as Prof. Dr. Oussama Khatib (Stanford University), Prof. Dr. Alin Albu-Schäffer (DLR), Prof. Dr. Ir. Stefano Stramigioli (University of Twente), Prof. Dr. Tobias Ortmaier (Leibniz University Hannover), journalist Erico Guizzo (IEEE Spectrum Magazine) and head of research at KUKA – Rainer Bischoff.
In the near future NCR should get KUKA LBR MED together with Roboception 3D system. The development of the application will last until July 2020, when the honored committee will visit our laboratory. Subsequently, the developed application should be presented at the Medica exhibition in Düsseldorf in November. We will keep you informed of the ongoing results.
