Another successful student work was created under the leadership of a NCR member – Ing. Ľuboš Chovanac, Ph.D. The work is devoted to ultrasound therapy of the soft tissue of the knee. Traditional ultrasound therapy, which has beneficial effects, for example, on the regeneration of damaged tissues, is performed manually by therapeutic staff in a commonly equipped clinic. It is usually a monotonous, lengthy, and repetitive action. Thanks to the movement of the ultrasound head located on the compliant robot, the process becomes more efficient, and the medical staff is relieved and can concentrate on other important tasks.
Student B.Sc. Izabela Trepáčová, who developed this application, received a letter of commendation from the dean of FEI STU for her excellent bachelor thesis. She also received the STU rector’s award for excellent academic results.
